The preparations for both the Rovers and the new league tag team are now in full swing with the scheduled dates for kick off of both competitions penciled in on the weekend of April 22/23.
Twelve teams will take to the field in the George Took Shield which is the shaping up as the most competitive season for many years.
Ten team league tag competition ready
Meanwhile the league tag competition looks like having a massive ten teams as well including Boorowa.
Having both teams will ensure Boorowa Supporters a great afternoon of footy for our home games with the league tag kicking off around 1.15pm and the main game around 2.30pm on match days.
The Rovers are looking to play at least two trial matches, possibly three, with the main preseason attraction being the annual match against the UC Grizzlies.
Dates are yet to be confirmed but this match is likely to be early April.
The league Tag girls are also set to play trial matches under the guidance of Coach Brendon Shean.
Training for both teams is expected to commence on January 19.
Rovers on the lookout for helpers and volunteers
The Rovers are keen to recruit more volunteers for the coming season.
With the two teams there are a number of positions vacant for people to become involved, in what promises to be the most exciting league season for many years.
In particular, with the league tag team coming on board, we are looking for additional strappers, first aid officers, grounds people, gate keepers and general assistants.
Running two teams is a massive job so any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
If you are keen to take part in any of these roles, get in contact with any of the Rovers committee or just contact the Courthouse Hotel who will put you in touch with the committee.
Boorowa rovers next general meeting
The next general meeting of the Rovers committee is on January 11 at which it is hoped further draw details and social events for the coming season will be finalised.
The Rovers wish all of their supporters and readers a very merry Xmas and look forward to sharing a very prosperous new year filled with plenty of success.
It's going to be a great 2017 in league so why not be a part of your Boorowa Rovers.
