Despite recent weather causing the Boorowa Showground to sustain damage to fields and tracks, NSW and ACT’s largest combined primary school’s carnival went off without a hitch.
385 teams, made up of 228 touch and 157 netball teams, from 49 schools headed along to the Showground for a day of fun, friendship and participation.
Both St Joseph’s Primary School and Boorowa Central School had a number of teams participating on the day and at one stage, the schools found themselves competing against each other on the footy field.
St Joseph’s also had a number of teams competing in the mixed netball competition against other schools from across the state and the ACT.
The students also benefited from learning from the best, with representatives from Touch and Netball NSW holding skills workshops throughout the day.
The schools would like to thank the community, volunteers, Hilltops Council, Boorowa Community Bank and secondary students from BCS and Hennessy Catholic College for their help before and on the day.
