Last Sunday the Anglican Parish gathered to farewell the Reverend Pauline Dare at her last service. Pauline is retiring to spend time with another flock – grandchildren.
Pauline has spent six and a half years in Boorowa providing a great pastoral care to the Anglican Parish and involving herself in the community, including the M&D Choir which sang at her last service. We thank her for her time here and wish her all the best for the future.

One has to worry about a fellow’s mathematical ability when he says, “There are only three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who can’t.”

Now this may highlight your mathematical bewilderment.
A school teacher was arrested at Sydney Airport while in possession of a ruler, protractor, pair of compasses, slide rule and a calculator. Federal Police have charged him with carrying weapons of maths instruction, claiming he is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement.
“Al-Gebra,” a spokesman said, “derive solutions by means and extremes, go off on tangents in search of absolute values and maintain secrecy using code names based on X and Y.”
As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, “There are three sides to every triangle.”
When asked to comment on the arrest, the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader, in a combined statement said, “If God had wanted us to have better weapons of maths instruction he would have given us more fingers and toes.”
Fellow political colleagues told reporters they could not recall a more intelligent or profound statement by any living politician.

I love to see young people getting out and having a go. Shaun Riley is doing just that with his Virtual Reality and multiplayer outlet operating in the Guild Hall annex formerly occupied by The Hub. Shaun’s a whizz with computers and it’s great to see him utilizing those skills to provide an amusement facility in town.

Do you like daylight saving? I must admit, I’m not a fan. When told the reason for daylight saving time an old Indian said, “Only the Government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.”
