Nominations have closed with a total of 385 teams nominated.
228 touch teams and 157 netball teams with a total of 49 schools participating.
The committee is overwhelmed by the response from schools.
The Carnival continues to be the largest primary school carnival held in NSW and ACT.
Schools are coming from the surrounding towns of Young, Murrumburrah, Temora, Crookwell, Goulburn, Queanbeyan, Yass, Braidwood, Cootamundra and many Catholic Primary Schools from the ACT.
The aim of the Carnival is for the children to participate and enjoy the day, playing netball or touch football with their peers and friends.
The carnival is not possible without the support and assistance from many community members who assist with bus parking, car parking, canteens, line marking and first aid.
The Hilltops Council, Boorowa Community Bank, school communities of Boorowa Central and St Joseph’s and secondary students from Boorowa Central and Hennessy Catholic College, Young all assist prior to or on the day.
We are very fortunate to have the wonderful assistance of NSW Touch Association and Nicole Bowles from NSW Netball who have created the draws for the carnival as well as many other things to help.
The NSW Touch and Netball officials will be arriving in Boorowa on Thursday to help with preparations for the day.
We are going to have very limited parking at the Showground due to the recent wet weather so cars will be parked in Scott, Queen, Market and South Streets and the buses will drop off students at the show grounds then park at the streets around Boorowa Central School until pick up.
We will have courtesy buses doing pickups at the South end of Scott Street, St Joseph's and at the Recreation Oval, prior to the carnival and at the end of the carnival.
The organising committee would love to hear from anyone who has a few hours to spare either on the day or beforehand.
We are desperately in need of car parkers from 7.30am till 9.30am, if you are able to assist please contact either Boorowa Central on 6385 3009 or St Joseph's on 6385 3263.
Once again thank you for your support and hope to see you on Carnival day.
