The portable shearing shed stationed in Civic in Canberra to mark the very first Boorowa Woolweek in 1994. It featured world champion shearer Ian Elkins and drew hundreds to watch.

Whilst this year marks the 20th anniversary of “Woolfest” as it’s known today and the Running of the Sheep, Boorowa’s biggest event started as a week long celebration. It also surprisingly started life in the middle of Canberra.
