Final Round of Darts Tonight
It’s the business end of the season as local darts heads into the final preliminary round tonight before the respective semi finals for all grades begin next week. The top grade seems set with Ram Z, Rec Gold, Top Pub Guinness and Rec Wizards all entrenched in the top four. The other ten teams are still scrambling for positions in the B and C Grades.
Round 12 results from last week were: Ram Z 5 beat Rec Wizards 2, Rec P and B 6 beat Naughty Courty 1, Rec Gold 6 beat RSL 1, Top Pub Guinness 4 beat Top Pub Masters 3, Mad Rams 7 beat Darty Deeds 0, Top Pub Newbies 5 beat Top Pub Jamesons 2, Ex-Services 26s 5 beat Top Pub Leppers 2.
Highlights of the night included Phil Johnston hitting a 180 on the way to a nine darts peg out showing brilliant form going into the big end of season games. Rob Dunwoodie impressed with a 140 whilst Jeremy Dev hit two bulls eyes. Glen Klose hit a 129 whilst Murray Armour had a 134. Venessa Hawley jagged a 140 for the RSL.
The draw for tonight is: Top Pub Masters versus Darty Deeds, Rec Wizards versus Top Pub Jamesons, Top Pub Leprechauns versus Rec Gold, Naughty Courty versus Top Pub Guinness, Ex-Services 26s versus Ram Z, Rec P and B versus RSL, Mad Rams versus Top Pub Newbies.
All teams will get the chance to play in the semi finals, at least for the first week, so there is still plenty to play for.
The Grand Finals are set to be played at the Recreation Club on October 20. A week later on 27th October the singles championships for both the ladies and men will be played at the Top Pub. The Presentation night will be held on Friday, November 4 at the Ex-services club.
It's a big month ahead for local darts so get down to a venue near you on Thursday nights for all the fun and action.
