It is also known for its Badge Week and the unique badges and other memorabilia offered as a token of appreciation for the donation made by the public.
Last year Legacy was the Australian Charity of the year.
Legacy is a voluntary organisation providing services to Australian families suffering financially and socially after the death of a spouse or parent during or after their Defence Force Service.
Legacy currently cares for 80,000 widows and 1,500 children and disabled dependents throughout Australia.
Our local Legacy Club is Yass/Boorowa Legacy and your donation will directly help to provide assistance to the 22 widows residing in the Boorowa area and the 70 residing in the Yass area.
Legacy badge sellers will be outside IGA next Friday (September 3) all day and Saturday morning.
I hope to see you outside IGA on one of those days and will be happy to sell you a badge or perhaps a little teddy bear or to accept your donation.
If you miss out on seeing us outside the IGA, please call me, Phil Armitage, on 0416 292 767 or 6385 1007 and I will arrange to meet you and receive your donation.
