Our boys got off to a flying start to lead 4-0 with a try to Joie Whybrow, but some mistakes and lack of concentration let the Roos back into it with two tries.
Great go forward from our front rowers Ben Klose and Brendan Welch got us on the front foot, allowing Matt Canellis to weave a path through the defence to eventually set up a try for Anthony Brown.
Another quick try before the break to the talented Joie Whybrow put us back in the lead at the break 14-10.
Some inspirational speeches at half time from the coach about using shoulders to tackle not fingers sparked our boys into action.
The second half defence was led by Cooper Cross, Jai Allison and big bad Brendan Welch.
The whole team played great, defence being the standout as they were up against a much larger team and as soon as the Roos go forward was stopped our attack done the rest, two wonderful tries to – yep you guessed it – Joie Whybrow, put the result beyond doubt, with the final score 26-16.
We have a home Grand Final in Harden this Saturday with three local teams going for the title, so get over to Harden and support our boys and girls because opportunities like this don’t come along very often!
