Linda Swales from Batlow, who has served for many years as our Zone Representative and is now our incoming State President, was our special guest.
A beautiful luncheon was served by Ridgy Didge at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club.
President Judy McGuiness welcomed the members and guests and gave a most comprehensive report on a very successful year for the Hospital Auxiliary, including several fundraisers which saw thousands raised.
Linda Swales then took the chair for the election of office bearers.
Judy McGuiness was re-elected president, Vice Presidents are Helen Aldersey and Yvonne Dockett, Jenny Carter continues as Secretary, and Elizabeth Mason as Treasurer.
It was then time to elect Patrons.
The meeting unanimously elected two wonderful ladies, Mary Corcoran and Phoebe Stuart, pictured above with special guest Linda Swales, who have both served the Auxiliary for many years and are still extremely active members and mentors to the next generation!
After the luncheon, the guest speaker, Sue Corcoran, gave a most interesting and informative talk on Polypharmacy, which is the term used for the taking of multiple medicines.
Statistics tell us that over half of people over 65 do take multiple medicines and there can be possibilities of drug interaction or medication misadventure.
If you would like to know more about this topic, Sue Corcoran will be very happy to discuss the subject with you, so just call in at our local Boorowa Pharmacy at 11 Marsden Street or give her a ring on 6385 3211.
Sue and Linda were both presented with a gift and the afternoon concluded with an afternoon tea.
A great day was had by all who attended and thanks to our special guests.
