President of the Boorowa CWA branch, Carmel Gordon, took the class through a range of meals and side dishes.
“We don’t get things like the city,” she said.
“I’m trying to get people to like cooking.”
Some of the meals included meatballs, vegie noodles, spongecake and gluten-free deserts.
There were also a variety of sauces for people to try and take home.
Carmel says she has learnt some special skills in the kitchen over the years and has cooked for the Boorowa, Young and Cowra markets, as well as the CWA.
“I want to get people to try different foods,” she said.
“You don’t have to be scared of anything.
“I love doing this.”
Any left over profits on the day went to the local Lions Club administration.
Carmel says they do great work in Boorowa’s local community.
“I do this as a fundraiser, just to help them out.”
