The field was saturated which meant wet weather football was the call for the day.
This style of rugby suited Crookwell better, as they won in a very tight contest 25 - 17.
The game started with both teams playing in a an old fashioned arm wrestle, battling for possession and territory.
The Boorowa forwards gained ascendency through strong running from Joel Holden and AJ McMahon.
Unfortunately Boorowa could not capitalise on the platform that the forwards had laid.
On more than one occasion, it was a poor pass or dropped ball that saw a try go begging.
In one instance, the loose ball fell into the hands of one of the Crookwell players and they ran 80 metres to score a try.
All of a sudden Boorowa found themselves down on the scoreboard 12 - 0.
Whilst standing behind the goal posts, Coach Marty Corcoran stressed the importance of being patient in the oppositions defensive 20 metres.
He allegedly said 'don't force it, be patient and we will reap a plentiful harvest'.
This proved to be a super speech as before long Justin Fleming went crashing over after a sustained period of attack.
The try was Flemos first try in 8 years (congratulations Flem).
At half time the game was up for grabs with the score 15 - 5.
Boorowa started the second half poorly, letting in an early try.
They then quickly regained composure and started clawing their way back into the game.
Club stalwart Adam Mokatupu powered over and scored a great try from close range.
With 15 minutes to go Boorowa's back line pulled off a great move.
Lawrence Keyworth threw a superb inside ball to James Green.
James burst through a huge whole to score underneath the posts.
The score was now 25 - 17 and Boorowa was coming home with a wet sale.
Unfortunately for Boorowa, the game was called off early due to a sickening injury to one of the Crookwell players.
The final score remained 25 -17.
Despite the loss Boorowa was filled with confidence that they can compete with the best teams in the competition and will be hoping to continue this form into finals season.
Points were as follows:
1 point and Players Player to Coach Corcoran, 2 points to Issac Clark and 3 points to Anthony McMahon.
Boorowa plays Jindabyne Bushpigs at the Boorowa Showground this weekend.
