Mrs Del Greig, Mr Max Mewburn and Mr Robert Styles kindly accepted an offer to officially carry out the unveiling and tree planting which was followed by them cutting a most wonderfully decorated cake that was most fitting for the occasion.
Thanks must go to the Rec Club Board and Manager Sharon for recognising the significance of this unique and historical tournament to organise this day.
After a history sharing buildup to this year's Gungewalla Cup it was contested last Sunday, June 12 in glorious winter weather.
Twenty seven golfers took on the testing course over 36 holes with some of us, afterwards, wondering should we have taken on the challenge.
After 29 consecutive appearances, the winner this year was Anthony Bell with Robert Styles the runner up.
Congratulations to Anthony and Robert and all trophy winners.
A cold, windy afternoon presented itself for last Saturday's A.J and J. Greig Stableford competition with Rod Neeson victorious on 39 points and Russ George runner up while Andy McGrath and Russell were nearest to pin winners.
Next Saturday we have an over 50's verses under 50's fun day.
The small club's pennants Binalong round is to played next Sunday, June 19.
Happy golfing.
