For the Boorowa Rovers, it doesn't get much tougher than this weeks local derby against the Harden Hawks at McLean Oval in Harden at 3pm on Saturday.
Harden will start heavy favourites in this game but the local derby is always keenly contested and the plucky Rovers won't make it is easy for the Hawks.
Both sides should be fresh after last weeks general bye and both will be desperate for the competition points.
Harden will be keen to keep pace with the competition front runners whilst the Rovers will be keen to build on their last start draw.
In the first round Harden were too strong for the youthful Rovers,
But it's a more battle hardened Boorowa outfit this time around.
Provided the Rovers can limit their errors, they will be more than competitive in this game.
A highlight of this week's game will be the appearance of both coaches in the match, all in the name of charity.
Rovers coach; Stuart Gay and Harden Coach Michael Quinn have pledged to take the field if they could raise $500 each for Ronald McDonald House.
This amount appears to have been well and truly reached, so it will be great to see these two old war horses take to the field with all the passion from their glory days.
Both players were more than a hand full in their prime and won't be taking a backward step this weekend.
Ronald McDonald House was instrumental in providing support to the Polimeni family recently and is a very worthwhile charity.
There will be bucket for donations at the ground and afterwards at the Harden Country Club there will be items up for auction.
Going into the second half of the season, the George Tooke ladder looks this way.
North Canberra 16
Harden Hawks 16
Bungendore 14
Crookwell. 10
Boomanulla 10
Braidwood 8
Gunning 6
Boorowa 5
ADFA 3
Harden and Bungendore still have a game in hand.
Whilst the top three teams look destined to figure in finals action, all teams are still in the race for the finals.
In other games this weekend, the improving ADFA take on the Crookwell Green Devils and an upset by ADFA would not surprise.
Gunning host the Braidwood Bears in what should be a tight one.
Boomanulla are at home to Bungendore and will be pushing their claims for a top four spot.
North Canberra have the luxury of another week off.
Don't forget to get down to the home of the Rovers, the Courthouse Hotel, on Saturday evening to share in the after match festivities and a great night out.
See you at Harden.
