I was saddened to hear of the passing of Margaret Cusack, a lady I had so much admiration for, a lady I got to know so well through my association with the M&D Society.
Margaret directed so many fine performances presented by the M&D Society, fine performances because she was a perfectionist, demanded it from her players and always brought out the best in them.
Margaret was first known to myself when I came to Boorowa and met her working for Paddy Donohoe or behind the counter at Carmody's Newsagency.
Always cheery, always helpful, always a credit to herself in any undertaking.
Margaret was the power behind the Historical Society for many years.
Margaret gained Boorowa's highest recognition when announced as Apex Citizen of the Year in 2000, so deserved.
Margaret Cusack gone, but will live in many peoples' minds and hearts for years.

Margaret would have loved the Songs of Hope Concert held last Sunday.
Absolutely brilliant, and CanAssist did very well too.
Congratulations to all.

Rotary's Monthly Markets are on this Saturday April 23 and are proving to be quite successful.
With many Rotarians attending the District Convention in Wagga this weekend, Boorowa Lions have stepped in to provide the BBQ and maintain the tucker on the day.
Organisations supporting each other, so good to see.

WITS April 7 was a little premature when a source had me reporting the Picnic Races were on.
The track wasn't inspected until a week later, but the news is still good - no problems - races on April 30.

Hope you read Young Deputy Mayor Ben Cooper's letter to the Editor page 4 April 14 issue.
Praise for Boorowa and sensible amalgamation views.
Well done Ben.

Anzac Day is commemorated so that we, and future generations don't forget the atrocities of war and we can acknowledge the great sacrifice so many made for us today.
Consider the first couple of lines of the Pete Seeger sung and Ed McCurdy penned song, Strangest Dream:
"Last night I had the strangest dream,
I'd never dreamed before,
I dreamed the World had all agreed to put an end to war."
If only this were so.
LEST WE FORGET.
