Temperatures into the mid 30's tested the stamina of all the competitors.
Water was the drink of choice all day, which was something of a record for the bowlers.
The results of first round matches were: John Crowe defeated Peter Watts 31-23, Des Grimson won over Glen Close 31-24, John Penyu defeated Les Murphy 20-12, John Dymock defeated John Snelling 31-17.
In the second round played in the afternoon, John Crowe defeated a very strong Brett Stanford 33-18, Des Grimson defeated Darrell Murphy 31-23, Chris Grimson withstood a strong challenge from John Penyu 31-25.
In what was a test of stamina over 38 ends, John Dymock held off a very strong challenge from Nev Thurtell who led at the 30 end mark 22-17, to eventually go down 32-24.
In the semi finals, next month Chris Grimson will play John Dymock and John Crowe will take on Des Grimson.
Last Thursday night saw 18 players take to the green with John Crowe, Jerry Monogahan and Mick O'Day win on 25 points.
John Crowe, Darrell Murphy and Peter Watts have all made it into the final eight at the Zone 8 Triple Championships.
