The Australia Day Ambassador to Boorowa, John Paul Young, let the first bowl go at the annual Australia Day tournament held at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club green.

The tournament was hotly contested by the six teams competing.
Winners on the day was John Crowes team which contained John, Charlie Nelson and John Dymock on 28 points closely followed by Bill Luxford, Brett Stanford and Les Murphy on 24 points.
Club President Gerard Dunne thanked all players and announced that there is a perpetual trophy to be played for on every subsequent Australia day.
