With skies threatening all day both sides struggled at times with the bat but the more disciplined Snipers handled the conditions better.
Meanwhile the second grade returned to the winner's circle after almost a six week break when they easily accounted for the Yass Golf Club by 55 runs in a match where fast runs seemed the order of the day.
In the top grade, Boorowa won the toss and elected to bat on a water logged field where runs were hard to come by.
Going aerial wasn't the answer either as the ball just plugged in the soggy outfield.
The openers got away to a reasonable start reaching 22 before Anthony McMahon went for 19 Nick Ryan was then dismissed for the best compiled seven over duck in cricket history.
Boorowa steadied and reached 3/92 in the 19th over.
Wickets then started to tumble and Boorowa slumped to 7/112 when Brad Rose was dismissed for a steady 35.
Bruce Grey made a handy 28 and Nick Dwyer hit an attacking 25 as Boorowa scampered to a total of 149.
In reply, the Snipers struggled early and were 2/26 as Boorowa gained the upper hand.
However the middle order steadied and a 117 third wicket stand snuffed out any chance Boorowa had of a win.
With the rain threatening, the snipers got home with seven wickets left in the 30th over.
Best of the Boorowa bowlers was Anthony McMahon with 2/24 whilst the Doug Walters of Boorowa Cricket, Simon Pye made a return to the bowling crease with 1 / 2.
The unlucky bowler of the day was Nick Dwyer who again put in a solid display without reward.
In the second grade, Boorowa also batted first and amassed a handy total of 138 in 29 overs.
Mick Canellis led from the front with a well compiled 46 and was very unlucky not to reach the half century.
Matt Batt has played some good cameo innings in both grades this season and hit a useful 26.
Will Elkins took to the field for the first time and scored a useful 17.
Great to have you on board Will.
In reply, Golf club had little answer to a lethal Boorowa bowling attack that soon had them in trouble at 4/24 after just four overs.
They certainly attacked the Boorowa bowlers but paid a heavy price in doing so losing wickets at a regular rate.
The highlight of the innings for Boorowa was a sensational bowling display from Mark Poplin who took 5/23 including a very rare hat-trick.
It's been a number of seasons since a Boorowa bowler has achieved this.
Damo Harton was impressive in support with 2/57 whilst Tom Carnell chipped in with 1/2.
This weekend sees both sides desperate to win for vastly different reasons.
The second grade still have a semi-final spot to play for whilst the A grade can still avoid the dreaded wooden spoon although that could well come down to the final round game against Bookham.
The first grade is on the road at Victoria Park when they take on the Royal Pirates.
This won't be easy but the Boorowa lads are growing in confidence this season.
The second grade is at home against arch rivals Binalong and no doubt Bay 13 should be going off.
It's another super Saturday of cricket and remember if you can't get to the game, get to the Courthouse hotel on Saturday night for all the after match festivities.
