Police observed the vehicle driving at excessive speed in Pudman Street at 2.20am and it was stopped in Campbell Street.
Police then discovered that not only was the driver under the inference of alcohol, but he had five teenage passengers squashed in the back seat - none wearing seat belts.
All had been drinking alcohol during the night.
