Last Friday 27 students and six teachers from the Longreach School of Distance Education called into the Boorowa Court House Arts and Crafts to have their breakfast in the tea room. Members of the Craft Shop treated them to hot chocolate to have with their meal.

The students were from the 5th and 6th classes and on a tour of about 10 days which included Parliament House, the War Memorial and Questacon in Canberra. They spent a day at Thredbo and were delighted with the snow. They were also thrilled to see the Boorowa Court Room - a much more grand building than the one in Longreach.
Among the students was Summer Spackman, granddaughter of Lorna and Arnold Spackman of the Kenyu Road. It was a great thrill for them to see each other.
The children would reach Longreach after a further two days travelling, via Dubbo and Bourke. Some students would then continue for a distance of about 250 kms. in order to reach their own homes. The school covers a distance larger than the state of Victoria and these children have a great education over the internet.
