Emergency services crews were on Monday morning called to an accident involving a semi-trailer.
Much of the day was spent extracting the Kenworth truck from the stand of trees it ran into two kilometres west of Murringo on the Young-Murringo Road around 6.30am.
It is understood the driver, a 37-year-old Young male, lost control of the semi, ran off the road, up an embankment, through a property fence and through the trees before the truck came to a halt.
According to Sergeant James Prentice of Riverina Highway Patrol the driver said the icy conditions caused him to lose traction as he was manoeuvring through a right hand bend.
By the time NSW Rural Fire Service crews arrived the driver had already been taken to Young District Hospital by NSW Ambulance with minor injuries.
Diesel fuel had to be drained from the unloaded truck before it could be removed from the scene.
Police are investigating the incident further.
