Many of our beloved Goldies players surfaced from their bedrooms on Sunday morning dazed and confused. The question on their mind, 'Was that a bad dream? Or did we really get beaten by the Bungendore Mud Chooks 5 - 84?' Unfortunately the answer was evident in their battered and bruised bodies.

Boorowa started the game in strong fashion, they steadily worked their way up the field and earned a penalty just 20 metres out from the Bungendore line. With a fearless attitude Boorowa opted to kick for touch rather than take the points. Boorowa conducted yet another perfect line out and quickly got into rolling maul formation. Led by Tom Carnell and Marty Corcoran the forwards rolled forward slowly but surely, edging closer and closer to the try line. Club stalwart Adam Mokatupu sensed a hole in Bungendores defensive line, he broke off the back of the maul and dived to score. Unfortunately this was the last moment of joy for the Goldies. Boorowa's nightmare then started to unfold in a series of unfortunate events. Murray Armour was forced from the field with a badly injured ankle.Mark Poplin received a yellow card for speer tackling Bungendores biggest player. (Although the 'crash tackler' does not condone illegal tactics on the rugby field, he does believe that the ref should have turned a blind eye to this act, due to Marks significant weight disadvantage.)
Bungendore scored an intercept try when the game was still in the balance.Overall it was just one of those days where the ball didn't bounce the Goldies way.
Bungendore scored tries at regular intervals an ran away victorious 5 - 84.Points this week were as follows: James trotter & Lachlan McGuiness (1 point), Marty Corcoran (2 points) & Matt Batt (3 points).
Boorowa takes on Taralga this weekend in their final home game of the year. The Goldies are celebrating 30 years since they won 1st and 2nd grade in the Southwest Rugby Competition.
