It's probably more than a whisper, but I believe Council is chasing a grant to build a multi million dollar Community Hub to be called, wait for it, 'Hilltops Region and Business Community Precinct'. Quite a mouthful. The building is to be sited on the corner of the golf course opposite the ambulance station. Apparently intention is to include medical facilities, remote work offices with high speed internet, community offices and an auditorium. All very exciting and I wish Council all the best in their endeavours.

I was going to say last week that compared to Alby Schultz's frequent visitation to Boorowa in his day, how conspicuous Pru Goward and Angus Taylor are in their lack of visitation. Low and behold, apparently you could have had a coffee with Angus Taylor Monday of last week, 20th July, but who knew he was here. I'd like to have known, but I bet I'm not alone there.
Got a not for profit organisation with a fund raiser coming up, want to promote a charity function or if you're a pollie coming to town, let me know and through this column or Streets of Boorowa on 2LF and you'll get publicity for your event/visit. Can't tell the people if I don't know.
Want to see some whacky cars and meet some whacky characters? The Variety Club Bash will be calling on Boorowa Sunday next 2nd August, arriving about 11.00am, in Scott Street adjacent to St Joseph's Primary School. BBQ lunch available so have a look, have lunch and I'm sure a good laugh.
With the energetic tree planters of North Sydney Bushcare Group coming to Boorowa 11 to 13 September, Landcare co-ordinator Heather McLeod is still looking for planting sites, preferably of 500 plus trees or more, but smaller sites considered. Contact Heather on 63851018 or BCLG Chair Roger Warren if you can help.
Nearly heard everything. A local lawn bowler asked if he could enter the singles championship twice, firstly as a right hander, then as a left hander. Be interesting if he had to play himself. Oh! The answer was no.
Loved this - Terry Hadfield from Coonabarabran making a comment on recent happenings in Federal Parliament: "If Bronwyn Bishop is on probation, does that mean the helicopter can only fly at 90 km/hr?"
Last week's quote that government is too big and important to be left to the politicians seemed to echo through talkback or TV I happened to hear. I'll leave you to think about this one: "My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government". (Thomas Jefferson)
Got any comments or suggestions, love to hear from you.
