A total of 35 competitors turned up for a very tough program of events scheduled for the day, some travelling out from Sydney as well as other travelers from Canberra, Tumut, Yass, Berrima and Young and as well the locals turned up for a comp on almost the shortest day of the year.
The club administration was very surprised yet quite happy to see this number turn up on reasonably good day weather-wise and witnessed some very good shooting over the day; as well we also noticed a number of usual members missing in action putting this down to tough scheduled events on the program.
Due to the recent club facility upgrades we saw the program done dusted with presentations completed by 4.30pm allowing our travellers ample time to return home at a reasonable hour after enjoying a good day of Boorowa hospitality and excellent food served by our club volunteer ladies throughout the day and enjoyed by all according to the positive feedback and comments.
Event one, the 25 target handicap club trophy saw only one possible shot by Sydney visitor Gill Yousef, taking out first place honours then after a short shoot off saw Damion Burt come in second followed by Anthony Gray taking third place.
Event two, the premier event of 25 pair double rise, as expected no possibles were recorded in this event however, Ben Murphy won overall with an impressive score of 44/50 followed by Justin Smith 43/50 taking out first in AA grade, four shooters then came in with a score of 40/50 and after the shoot off Nick Xenos from Sydney takes second place in AA.
A grade, first place winner Steve Burrows from Canberra coming second was Matt Harris also from Canberra.
B grade, first was Don Geddes from Cootamundra second was Jenny Twaloh from Berrima.
C grade, first saw Corey Lees from Yass second was Stuart Burrows from Canberra.
Major sponsors of this event, J and A Geotech and Testing. The club would like extend our gratitude for your support on this event which surely helped attract competitors on the day as you continually put up quality trophies thanks again to Justin and Allison
Event three, 20 pair Deauville Doubles (a lot of serious fun shared by all competitors) saw only three shooter pair's record perfect scores of 40/40. After a shoot off the eventual winners were local combination Scotty Burrows and Mervin Campbell, followed in second place by the farther son combination Damion Burt and Nathan Burt from Young.
The club would like to send a big thank you to sponsors of this event. Ian Crisp and Family, we sincerely thank you for your ongoing annual support of this event which is truly enjoyed by all competitors.
Ladies high gun winner was Jodie Gannon from Canberra.
Junior high gun winner was Nathan Burt from Young.
Veteran's high gunner winner for the second month in a row was Thomas (Soot) Sutton from Tumut.
Local Benny Murphy was the overall high gun winner; our congratulations go to all winners over the day which proved to again be very successful.
