A cattle dog trial at Wattamondara is the latest in a series of fund-raisers for the youth mental health service, so far pulling in more than $20, 000.
Helping to organise the trial is Cowra's 2014 Senior Rural Achiever and Hands Up For Headspace volunteer Nick Hovey.
He said he's looking forward to seeing a number of handlers from the central west and beyond compete all in the name of Headspace.
"[The idea behind the day is] to gather the dog trialling community together in efforts to raise money for Headspace Cowra in conjunction with Hands Up For Headspace," Mr Hovey said.
"It is important to support this event as mental health is a major issue within our youth. It is also quite an interesting and fun event to watch."
Handlers must use their dog to put three head of cattle through a series of obstacles, including a gap between two panels and a race, in under five minutes. The final challenge is to put the cattle away.
There will be a canteen available on the day from which all proceeds go to Headspace. There'll also be a raffle with great prizes and a ute dog cage to be auctioned at 12pm.
The cattle dog trial will take place at the Wattamondara Sport and Recreation Ground on July 18, kicking off at 7.30am.
