Not only have they undertaken this but have filled the roles Apex undertook in the running of Driver Reviver, catering for Carols in the Park, the BBQ stand at the show and more.
Lions have been advertising quite often on national television inviting people to 'lend a hand', get involved in Lions and help your community.
I can assure you, the Boorowa Lions club would appreciated all the help it could get, being only a small group undertaking this extra loading. Becoming a Lion isn't costly, meeting attendance is not compulsory and you are only asked to do what you can.
The Australia Day Committee discussed at length the funding organisation of our Citizen of the Year. Past Apexian Graeme Chown and Lion President Marilyn Miller were also in attendance. Culminating from that meeting it was resolved that the preferred option from the current Apexians was for Lions to undertake the running of our Citizen of the Year award and that the name Apex be retained in the naming, in conjunction with Lions.
The Lions Club at their meeting on Thursday night last took this information on board and unanimously agreed to take Citizen of the Year on according to the request of the past Apex Club of Boorowa.
