That's the philosophy of Susan Fagan, the Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre's (SRBEC) new Links to Learning program facilitator at Boorowa Central School.
Every Tuesday, Ms Fagan will be helping to reengage students at the school through mentorship, community projects and motivational speakers from within the Boorowa community.
The program is a partnership between the SRBEC and schools in Boorowa, Crookwell, Yass and Young to help students reconnect with formal education.
Boorowa Central School principal Jennifer Green said it's the first time the school has run the program.
She said it's about students "re engaging in life" while inspiring young learners beyond the formal curriculum.
"For some it'll be about a better transition into high school so they're comfortable in their [new] learning setting. For others, it'll be about tapping into their learning strengths and giving them validation," Ms Green said.
"It's also an opportunity for pathways beyond school."
During the course of the year, Ms Fagan said she'll be helping the students to develop employment-related skills while instilling in them high aspirations for both in and beyond their schooling.
"[The idea of the program is to] develop students into confident young Australians with a passion for learning and a desire to be a part of the community," Ms Fagan said.
"They'll get to experience being a part of something while helping someone else."
