Both sides were desperate for a win but it was Harden who proved a little too strong in some tough batting conditions to win by five wickets. Boorowa won its second toss in a row and elected to bat but were soon in trouble at 3/27 in the ninth over.
Murray Armour and Nick Ryan then combined to add 62 for the fourth wicket and at 4/99 in the 18th over it looked as though Boorowa could well go beyond 200. However a middle order collapse saw them dismissed for 145 in the 32nd over. Murray Armour top scored with a solid innings of 46 whilst Nick Ryan made a well compiled 41.
In reply Boorowa had the Harden side in trouble early at 2/20 but Harden then steadied with a 69 run third wicket stand.
Boorowa never gave in but were always looking about 50 runs short of a defendable total. Harden looked a little shaky at 5/127 but reached the target without the loss of a further wicket in the 37th over. Murray Armour completed a good all-round game with 2/32 in nine overs whilst Rick Bennett took 1/28 off his nine overs. Jacob Carmody chipped in with 1/18 whilst Luke Hewitt picked up 1/17.
In the last match before the Xmas break Boorowa took on the Yass Soldiers Club Snipers at home. Boorowa won its first toss in six games and elected to bat posting a solid score of 184. Simon Pye top scored with a hard hitting 75 with Brendan Shean scoring 30 and Nick Ryan 21.
Whilst it was a healthy total it wasn't enough against the strong Snipers batting line up. Boorowa had Yass in trouble early at 2/17 but a fourth wicket unbeaten stand of 120 did the damage for Yass to cruise home by seven wickets.
Wickets takers for Boorowa were Nick Dwyer with 1/35, Chris Turner 1/29 and Murray Armour 1/24. Boorowa has been able to snare early wickets but at the moment appear to have trouble penetrating the middle order.
This week the team is at home again when they take on the Yass Gold Club Piranhas. With their season all but over as far as a semi-final berth goes, the team is still very keen to post a couple of victories.
After match festivities will as always be at the Courthouse Hotel come Saturday night.
