With little more than six months to go before the commemoration of the Centenary of Anzac on April 25, 2015, the Boorowa Remembers committee is encouraging local district residents to get involved in some way in recognition of this significant milestone.

This week the committee is making an appeal to local organisations to consider observing the centenary in ways which they think will be most appropriate for their members.
Organisations, and also individuals, may like to organise an activity, arrange a special display or sponsor some particular feature associated with the theme of Anzac.
As part of the re-development of Dr Kelf Park and the establishment of a commemorative grove and walkway, additional seating is proposed, and sponsorship of such facilities would be appreciated and will provide an opportunity for some organisation or individual to have their names perpetuated.
Local business houses are being encouraged to mount window displays or offer special promotions with a centenary theme.
Leading up to, and during, Anzac Day 2015, special emphasis will be placed on the men and women from this district who served in World War 1, and particularly those who were involved in the landings at Gallipoli, where the Anzac legend was forged.
Many of the relatives of these local district residents will attend Anzac Day observances in Boorowa, and some have indicated that they will travel a considerable distance to be here for that occasion.
While WW1 will be the special focus, the centenary activities will also involve commemoration of local district people who served in any of the conflicts in which Australia has participated.
