She renewed long-standing friendships, including Bob and Margaret Berry, with whom she stayed. As well, she caught up with several ex-pupils and enjoyed all that the town and district had to offer over the weekend - the Parade, the Stalls, the Art Show, the Bakery and much more. She was so impressed with the friendly welcome she received from so many.
What she didn't expect, to end up in the Boorowa Hospital Emergency Department on Wednesday morning with serious and painful symptoms. Dr. Ron Scott and RN Cecelia Walsh and her team performed the necessary tests and she was soon off to Canberra Hospital in an Ambulance from Harden. Thursday saw her have the procedure to have a stent placed in an artery that was completely blocked.
Dorothy has been overwhelmed and deeply moved by the professional care and compassion shown to her over the time both at the Boorowa Hospital and in the Coronary Care Unit at the Canberra Hospital. Her plans to continue her holiday with extended family members on the South Coast, have had to be postponed and she is on her way to Brisbane to stay with her son till she has completely recovered.
Dotty, as she is affectionately known, wants to thank the many people of Boorowa who welcomed her and came to her aid in her never to be forgotten Boorowa holiday.
