An elderly woman was rescued after her car became stuck in the Boorowa River on Monday.

The 80-year-old from Grenell was attempting to cross the river via a concrete causeway.The causeway runs beside the Terrengo Bridge on Cunningar Rd which is currently under construction.
Due to recent rainfall the river is running and on the rise. At the time the woman attempted to cross, she was following two other vehicle's who made it safely to the other side.
However, the woman stalled her vehicle and could not re start it again. Boorowa council workers helped her walk across to safe ground, however the vehicle could not be recovered due to the dangerous fast running water.
Over the next few hrs the water level increased until the vehicle was completely submerged.
