It was billed as their best opportunity for a win so far this season but after leading at halftime the Boorowa Rovers were unable to capitalise on its good start and let the chance of a first win slip from their grasp losing 26-6 against the Crookwell Green Devils in very coolish conditions.

The game was a tight one in the first half with just one try each. Both teams found it difficult to control the football with a high error rate.
Crookwell posted first points after 12 minutes following a glut of possession early. Once again the Rovers were on the receiving end of a massive penalty count and did well to restrict the Devils too just one try in the first half.
Boorowa hit back after 28 minutes when centre Kris Halls strode out down the sideline to cross wide out. Murray
Armour landed a nice conversion for Boorowa to go into the break leading 6-4.
Boorowa had the worst possible start in the second half when once again Crookwell gained valuable field position off Boorowa errors to score after just two minutes to go ahead 8-6. The Rovers hung tough but after 10 minutes Crookwell began to turn the screws leading 14 - 6 before the third try of the half with 15 minutes left saw the Crookwell side skip to an unassailable 20-6 lead.
The final nail came four minutes from time when Crookwell went in for their fifth try to make the final score 26-6.
The three points on Saturday went to halfback Shane Cross, two points to Chris Mason and one point to Nathan Morgan. Shane Cross and Chris Mason shared the player's player award.
Special mention to Nathan McCracken who again tried his heart out in the forwards.
In the only the other match last weekend saw Yass beat Bungendore 26-24 in a real thriller.
Harden received a forfeit from Boomanulla whilst Binalong had a bye.
This weekend sees the penultimate round before the semi-finals begin.
The Rovers haven't given up on a victory this season but will be up against it when they take on the Bungendore Tigers at the Boorowa Showground at 2.30pm on Saturday.
The Tigers were big winners in round one but this will be much different.
In other games, Boomanulla host the Hawks and Harden should win this well.
Yass are at home to the Crookwell Green Devils and the Magpies will be hot favourites in this. Boomanulla have the bye.
It's sponsors' day this Saturday at the showground so we invite all those sponsors to our tent at the showground for a beer or two or three and watch the lads go round.
Many of our sponsors have worn the Rovers colours themselves so it's a great chance to relive the glory days.
Then it's back to the Home of the Rovers, the Top Pub for loads of fun and a great night as Mike, Young and Staff
celebrate their second birthday and the Rovers hopefully celebrate a win.
Our last game will be the following week with a road trip to Harden which is always a good day out.
See you at the footy Saturday. Go the Rovers.
