Two weeks in and we have already seen a 180 and a sensational peg out thrown.
A top class field assembled last Saturday and it was Rod Neeson who scored a win in the major final over Josh Carmody whilst in the Plate it was Tim Good who took the major prize.
Josh Carmody threw a 180 in the preliminary rounds backing up a solid Thursday night display.
Without doubt, the veteran Tim Good showed his sporting prowess extends both to indoor and outdoor events. After a very handy day on the golf course, Tim brought down two of the big guns in Boorowa Darts, being Phil Johnston and Lethal Les Fitzgerald and in the process pegged out on a 158.
Meanwhile the jackpot draw where players throw three darts in the hope of scoring the same as a random mystery number wasn't won. Saturday is for everyone who wants to have a throw because if you lose your first game you still get another chance.
Meanwhile the Thursday night competition is really appreciating those warm fire places at some of the venues. Last week saw the Top Pub Greenies beat the Wizards 7-0 but the match was much closer than the score suggests. Both these sides will be in the mix for the A-Grade finals. The Top Pub Irish caused a minor upset over the Top Pub Rebels 4-3 whilst the Rec Gold remain unbeaten with a 6-1 win over Crows Rams. The Rec Green Devils had a solid 5-2 win over the Mad Rams with Kerry Bloomfield pegging a 66 with a 16 and a bull. In the final game the Better Halves 5 beat the Ex-Services 2 despite good hundreds to Julie Dunn and Stew Blomfield. The Ex-Services aren't far off a win.
For the winner of the Top Pub Pleasure Pack this week it is hard to go past Young gun Josh Carmody who backed up seven centuries on Thursday with a 180 on Saturday. But don't forget anyone can win this award just put your team mates exceptional or unusual effort on the scoresheets.
Tonight sees some very good matchups at all the venues. The Top Pub Greenies host the Ex-Services, Better halves host the Top Pub Rebels, Top Pub Irish host the Crows Rams, Mad Rams are at home to the Courty, The Rec Gold play the Green Devils whilst the match of the round could well be the Horny Stallions at home to the Rec Wizards.
If you just want to watch a game it's not hard to find one each and every Thursday but don't be shy have a throw at the social darts on Saturday at 5pm at the Rec club. Great fun with good people and who knows, who could win the jackpot prize. Happy Arrows.
