"The main emphasis is on safety, safety and fun, with an emphasis on safety," president and trainer Mike Crockford said.
"If we stay safe, we have heaps of fun".
With the BBQ cranking out sausage sandwiches for the shooters in an attempt to brave the four degree day, shooters took turn about to demonstrate to a satisfactory level their safe handling knowledge for hand guns.
Graduates now have their completion forms to send in to apply for their licence, a process that is not hard but does take some time with all the police checks and balances in place.
Pistol shooting is an Olympic sport and requires skill and concentration to achieve high levels of accuracy.
Regular shooting is on the first and third Sundays each month from 10am until 2pm, but August we will be having a special as that month has five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays and won't happen again for another 832 years, so we intend to make the most of August, and have been invited to compete at Majura Pistol Club in the ACT on the 31st.
Anyone interested in trying pistol shooting (FREE) can phone or text 0428846203, email: ssaaboorowa@yahoo.com, or Boorowa Pistol Club on Facebook.
