The siblings lived on the current Boorowa News site for a time and their father , Clarence (Clarrie) Robertson worked at the Boorowa News for around 10 years
Ms Robertson also worked at the Boorowa News when she finished school and has not-so-fond memories of having to transcribe her own terrible shorthand from when she would do the court reporting - something current Boorowa News journalists can certainly relate to.
Ms Robertson said the current news office used to be a hairdressing salon and the house next door belonged to their uncle.
When they evacuated from Sydney in 1942 due to the Japanese attacking Sydney Harbour, they came to Boorowa to live, amassing many fond memories during their time here.
Ms Robertson recalled meeting in the office knitting socks for the soldiers with other local women and putting together care packages to send away.
The pair were on their way to deliver a book given to Ms Robertson as a child by the editor celebrating the paper’s diamond jubilee to former local Bede Ryan, to assist him in compiling the history of the region.
