Boorowa Swimming Club was lucky enough to be represented at two different carnivals over last weekend, at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and in Quandialla. With 11 swimmers in Canberra swimming in a total of 59 events between them, personal bests were set by every single swimmer in at least one of their events. For most of our swimmers, it started as a nerve racking experience having never raced in pool with such a professional set-up. A big thanks to Mick Hinds and Ben Davis who ensured everyone in the team knew how to use the blocks, where to go and what rules they needed to follow. With these boys helping others out, they all settled into the new environment.

Max Gay, Jack Hinds, Mick Hinds and Morgan Liddle were a few who set personal bests in the 50m freestyle event. Brock Ritchie powered down the pool for his 100m backstroke.
Ben Davis smashed his way through the 100m butterfly. Adam Hinds and Marlie McIntosh swam beautiful 50m breaststroke events against kids a lot bigger than them.
Jody Liddle swam strongly in the 100m freestyle while Meg McIntosh and Olivia Gay made best times in the 50m backstroke.
The Allison and Howlett families travelled to Quandialla on Sunday.
Jai, Lleyton and Tiarna Allison and Claire Howlett competed in a total of 19 events with some fantastic results.
Again, personal bests were the flavour of the day and the four came first in their heat for the relay. Claire swam the Individual Medley in a fantastic time and bought home a first and second placing in two other races.
Lleyton put in a huge effort and his breaststroke was a pleasure to watch.
Jai had a busy day with his 5 events and swam beautifully in his backstoke while Tiarna rocketed through her 50 and 100m freestyle events.
A superb effort from all the swimmers over the weekend who did a wonderful job representing Boorowa over the last weekend and we wish the swimmers heading to the carnival in Wagga this weekend all the very best.
