This is the biggest representation from the club for many years and an indication of how much our young members are enjoying their swimming.
This was the first ever carnival for many of our younger swimmers and it was great to see Amelia Hewitt, Mia Hierzer and Marlie McIntosh swimming with such confidence.
Meg McIntosh, Tiarna Allison and Payten, Chandler and Austin Power are also new to the carnival circuit and all swam massive personal bests as did Ben Davies, Jack Hinds and Jack and Paddy Fahey. The Fahey boys are being set a great example by Dad Bruce who also took part in the carnival.
The Johnson family, represented by Beth, Helen and Patrick, showed that some summer training had paid off and Rebecca Luxford impressed everyone with her excellent swims.
The highlight of the day was Mick Hinds swimming qualifying times for Country Championships in both 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly.
Mick will now represent Boorowa Swim Club and South Western District at the Country Championships to be held in Sydney later in February.
Boorowa Swim Club is hosting a South Western District carnival on February 21 and this will be a great opportunity for many more of our swim club families to experience the fun of carnival competition. With clubs attending from as far afield as West Wyalong, Tumut and Wagga it will be a big day for Boorowa and all club families are encouraged to offer their assistance to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Next weekend many of our swim squad are travelling to Tumut for the Speedo Sprints trials. With regular training sessions, and school carnivals, during the week there should be some great personal best times.
