Bendigo Football League greats reflect on country championships glory
4:00 AM | GOING into tomorrow’s inter-league clash with Gippsland, Bendigo is seventh on the Victorian Country Football League rankings. While Bendigo is working its way back towards the top of the ratings, there was a time not that long ago that the BFL was the envy of rival country football leagues. From 1988 to 1990 the BFL played in three-straight VCFL Country Championship grand finals, winning the 1989 decider over Geelong.
Mee rises to challenge with Bendigo Pioneers

The 37-year-old was racked with Achilles injuries for the Bendigo Spirit last WNBL season, but has recovered well enough to be praised by Opals coach Carrie Graf for her “dynamic” training.

Two years ago the leagues played out a thrilling enncounter at the QEO, with Bendigo prevailing by nine points. “We’re a fair bit stronger than last time we were in Bendigo,’’ Burgiel, who is non-playing coach this year, said.
