PRAHRAN is preparing for a unique three-peat in Premier Cricket.
The True Blues won the Twenty20 premiership three weeks ago at Ringwood and yesterday took the one-day flag against Geelong at Toorak Park.
Next month they will campaign for the ultimate prize, the season premiership. At present they are second on the ladder.
The District/Premiership competition began in 1906-07, the one-dayers in 2002-03 and the Twenty20 in 2005-06. Since the three crowns have been offered, St Kilda (2005-06) and Dandenong (2006-07) have won two in a season.
Yesterday, Prahran set Geelong 219 and the Cats lost Australian big-hitter Aaron Finch in the first over for eight. Rain ended the match after 15 overs with the Cats on 3-58 and Prahran was awarded the title having ended the season as minor premier.
