Wild weather postpones races

26 Jan, 2012 02:02 PM
The wild weather on Friday resulted in the postponement of swimming club races to Monday evening with the result being a far more pleasant evening.

In the 25m events, Caprice Tesoriero did a great job in her breaststroke while Teleana O’Brien swam a strong freestyle.

Bridget Summerfield made a super effort throughout her 50m freestyle race.

The 50m breaststroke was swum hard by Maddison Tesoriero for the girls and Will Allison did a great job in the boys event.

An amazing effort by many swimmers who came out on Monday night to back up their efforts after an exhausting weekend of carnivals. Events for this Friday include the ever popular diving, freestyle, backstroke and the individual medley.

There is a community fundraising event to be held at the pool on Saturday, February 11 from 5pm until late.

This event will be to raise funds for seating and shade for everyone to enjoy.

Keep an eye out in next week’s paper for more information about how you can get involved!
