Under 7s
On Saturday the Boorowa Under 7s team travelled to Junee to play in the big carnival there.
The kids had two great games with tries from Tom Jenkins, Nick Jenkins and Tracey Noakes.
Oscar Killic and Seb Staunton played hard and did some great tackling. Ned Evans and Adam Hinds made some hard hitting runs through the other team’s defence.
All in all the team played great football. Well done team!
Under 9s
With another year of football almost finished the mighty Boorowa Under 9s travelled to the annual Junee Schoolboys Carnival on the weekend. Against Gundagai in the first game, Zac Shea and Jack Hinds had great games, handling the ball well. Ben Davis and Joe Niddrie have had a top season and this game was no exception. Boorowa won the first game 28-14.
In the second game they were evenly matched with the Magpies for a good game. Wil Stanley and Alex Noakes stopped many Magpie raids with great defence especially on their own try line. Charlie Gay got his first try of the season and you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face for the rest of the day. In the end the Magpies just got up 24-22. A great performance by the team.
Under 11s
The Harden-Boorowa Under 11s finally got some luck their way this week with a faultless display at Junee. The team outplayed all three opponents – Goulburn Murray, Griffith Gold and Turvey Park – in a dominant display of Rugby League. Lauren Jenkins and Mike Hinds were outstanding, making plenty of metres up the middle. Jack Fahey and Jesse Halls were solid at the back, halting many raids, while Luke Staunton only knows one way and always puts his hand up for his team.
After a year of close calls it was great to see their happiness after all their hard work throughout the year and their side come away with the Pennant in their division.
