Bushrangers outstanding

15 Jul, 2010 09:05 AM
The Under 12’s Boorowa Bushrangers travelled to Harden on the weekend to take on the Junee Diesels and with the boys playing in the curtain raiser to the Harden and Binalong game a large crowd was on hand to watch the locals.

Junee got off to a quick start and had the first points on the board to lead 4-0 after a couple of minutes.

Boorowa showed great defence on their own line to halt many raids lead by George Chudleigh, Mal Hurley and Johno Davis who were all fantastic, putting their bodies on the line to pull off many try savers to keep the opposition at bay.

Michael Berry and Jock Corcoran never sopped all day and were never far away from the action to cap off good all round games.

Jack Stanley crashed over just before half time to leave the score 4-4 at the break.

After the break Jack Yorkston and Wil Arber continued the go forward with both having strong games in both defence and attack.

Wil was rewarded with a great 50 metre effort to score late in the game.

The halves pairing of Marshall Andrews and Jack Stanley created havoc with almost ever touch giving great service to their outside backs and making plenty of metres themselves. Jack ended up crossing for two more tries in the second half.

Centres Jacob Carmody and Alex Blomfield were powerful running straight and hard making plenty of metres to have their side in strong positions to attack.

Ben Jenkins scored one of the tries of the year running 95 metres, weaving his way through the Junee defence to race away to score under the posts.

Mark Veness was as safe on the wing and always gives his all and capped a fine game off with a great conversion to seal the victory.

Boorowa ran out winners on 32-4 and played well as a team the more the game went on.

The boys tried out some good moves resulting in George Chudleigh crashing over from a set play.

Enough cannot be said about the little fellas who back up week after week.

Jack Hinds, Wil Stanley and Ben Davis were simply outstanding – the courage these lads show in bigger company is second to none and they all continue to impress. Well done lads.
