 All over for Rovers

All over for Rovers

22 Oct, 2009 07:14 AM
The mighty Boorowa Rovers gallantly flew the flag fortheir town at last weekends ARL Masters tournament held at Young. The boys(?) started strongly defaeating Tuggeranong in their first game. Bill Stanley peeled back the years to cross for the opening try, while Mick Keefe and Shane Picker also scored, which was lucky for them as they both suffered tournament ending injuries not long after. With an hours break the joints began to stiffen and a red-hot West Belconnen, featuring some ex-Boorowa players, took it right up the Rovers, but the boys regrouped at half time were by no means disgraced. A wonderful night followed with around 200 former league legends swapping stories and proving the old adage, ‘the older I get the better I was’,is still true. with the tournament becoming an annual event the Over Rovers will take a short break before beginning training once again as everyone can’t wait to back up again. The boys would like to thank all the supporters who came to cheer them on and help out and hope that their effort was enough to see a larger next year.
