Wetting a line at Grabine

12 Sep, 2008 11:45 AM
The Boorowa Fishing Club went to the Grabine Fishing Classic on a cool weekend. Boorowa had a good tournament with Chris Mason winning the biggest Murray cod at 4.5kg. Tony Corcoran caught the biggest bream at 2kg. Former Boorowa lady Debbie Batt won the $10,000 fishing boat.

Other winners from the Boorowa club were Mark Poplin who caught a 1kg yellowbelly and Craig Mason got the biggest carp at 4.5kg.

Dylan Poplin, Murray Armour and Kurt Barton tried hard all weekend but just couldn’t land the big one.

The Fishing Club had its AGM on Monday night with Trevor Marchant elected President, Steve Hewitt, Vice President, Roger Mason, Secretary, Ray Poplin, Treasurer and Gavin Campbell Publicity Officer.

If anyone is interested in doing a boat licence course please ring Ray Poplin on 6285 3199 for more information. Membership fees are now due. The Fishing Club has members from seven to 75 years old so you can’t be too young or too old to join and everyone is welcome.
