Last Thursday 10 players enjoyed a day's tennis in the last week of the current competition, with long rallies, strong volleys and cross-court shots.
Marje Hunter was the highest scorer for the day, with 24 games, winning patron Esma Gruber's trophy.
Wendy Brant followed with 21 games, then Elva Donohoe with 18 games.
In the six-weekly competition Wendy won Betty Dwyer's trophy with 126 games, followed by Betty herself with 105 games and Marje and Elva with 102 games each. Wendy was also the lucky lady for the six-weekly competition, winning Margaret Berry's trophy.
The later starting time of 10.30 am (not 10.15 as advised last week) is working well for the winter months. Names are to be in 15 minutes earlier. The club has apologised to players who were not informed of the time change. Arrangements are well in hand for the tennis trivia night next month.
