Local boy Ben Walsh has represented Boorowa as well as his country, for lawn bowls in New Zealand.
On Saturday January 14, Ben flew to Auckland in with 13 other lawn bowlers and 17 netballers along with their managers and coaches from the Western Region Academy of sport.
The team was based at Mt Manganui on the majority of days, where they trained to keep up their fitness in the mornings and commenced match play in the afternoons. Ben and his team played against a number of different clubs while in New Zealand including Matua, Whakatane, Mt Manganui, Tauranga and Rotarua.
