The Boorowa Rovers continued their push towards a finals spot last Sunday with a comprehensive defeat of second-placed Grenfell. The Rovers dominated the match, running out victors 28-12.
In a game in which heavy defence was the order of the day, leading to some poor handling, the Rovers were better able to absorb the punishment and control the ball which was the key to their victory.
The Boorowa defence was outstanding once again with plenty of big 'hits' along with fine scrambling cover, managing to frustrate their opponents and contain their potent attack.
Once again it was a truly team effort from Boorowa, however Danny Cassells excelled at pivot while coach Graham Moorby revelled in the physical contact, leading from the front.
Another player to shine was young winger Craig Dwyer who constantly thwarted Grenfell raids through his last ditch defence and cleaning up of kicks. He was no slouch in attack either, bagging two tries.
This week the Rovers head to Canowindra to take on the out-of-sorts Tigers, with another victory seeing them climb further up the congested Woodbridge Cup ladder. SG
