On Saturday 10 December 2011, twenty golfers played in the Annual Greenkeepers Golf Revenge. Les Fitzgerald, who manicures the golf greens, placed the cups in some difficult positions, usually on a slope near the edge of the greens.
Undeterred were the winners Mick Carnellis, Shane Cross and Chris McIntosh with a very useful score of 72 net 56. Runners-up were Del Greig, Dave Bedford and Richard Hall with 71 net 58¹/2.
Second last were the Hewitt clan, Maureen, Steve and Hayden with 82 net 65. Nearest the pin winners were Richard Manning on the third green and Peter Glover on the eighth green. Next Saturday 17 December, golf will commence at around 4.00pm for nine holes, followed by a barbecue, then nine holes of night golf.
