Jill Adams was recently honoured at the end of year Golf Club Championships held at the Boorowa Recreation Club.
After an enjoyable day of golf, the ladies were presented with their various well deserved trophies.
This was truly a day to celebrate as Jill was overwhelmed when she cut her 80th birthday cake.
With her boys living so far away, this was her special party with friends to enjoy her special day.
Her golfing partners had lots of stories to tell as they reminisced over her golf career of 65 years.
Jill recalls starting to play when she was about 14.
Many have learnt their skills from Jill and no doubt she’ll still have the clubs working for her as she continues to play the game she loves so much.
The respect the golfing community have for Jill was confirmed when she was given the job of unveiling the new 6th tee as she is the patron of the Boorowa golf ladies group.
Her delight and shock was obvious with an emotion filled face when she revealed the new 6th tee named in her honour.
Well done to the organisers for keeping this a surprise.
As her friends from golf shared this with her, the celebrations continued into the afternoon.
