Signing up for Little As

24 Sep, 2009 08:14 AM
Young and District Little Athletics Club, of which many Boorowa

children are members, will be holding their final registration days this

weekend.

There are already 90 athletes

registered, so it is gearing up to be a competitive and big season.

On Saturday registrations will be at Donges Supa IGA in Young, from 10am until 2pm.

The club will also be holding a fundraising sausage sizzle.

With numbers expected to exceed 200 this season, it is much appreciated if athletes are able to register early and avoid the ‘last-minute crunch’ of

registering on orientation night.

Orientation night will be used to educate parents on the different events that will be held and how to assist at these events. hildren will also get the opportunity to participate on the evening, however, no events will be recorded.

If parents are held up at

registrations, they will miss out on this valuable time.

There are two coaching clinics being held over the October school holidays.

The first clinic is being held in Leeton and is a great opportunity for parents and children alike, as it is a duel coaching clinic/officials course.

While the children are coached in several events, the parents are able to be coached in official’s courses.

The cost of the clinic for children and young adults is $10 per day or $15 for two days.

All coaches are registered members of the AT&FCA, and the children are able to choose which events they wish to do over the two days with a

maximum of four events per day.

The official’s course is free.

Exams will be held for the officials, with track events on the Saturday and field events on the Sunday.

The course is ideal for anyone who has ever questioned the correct

methods and rules for events.

Applications close on Friday, October 2.

Also held over the October school holidays is a three-day coaching clinic at Kinross Wolaroi School.

Applications for this clinic also close on Friday, October 2 and the

clinic is run by Quality Sporting Services.

Cost for participants is $290 for live in, and $235 for live out.

This includes all accommodation and meals, coaching, hat and water bottle.
