Under 5’s

Saturday saw Boorowa Tyre Service under 5’s host the Young Vision Concrete under 5’s.

In the misty conditions Tobias Piper shone out, leading many attacking raids.

Will Fahey and Jack Sargent helped keep the score kicking over.

Angus Piper and Emma Medway were rock-like in defence.

Hopefully next Saturday in Young we will have a few more players to help out the Fab Five.

Under 8’s

The Boorowa under8’s travelled to Young last Saturday expecting a hard encounter and they weren’t disappointed.

Although improving every week the locals just couldn’t quite crack it for a victory.

As always Tom Jenkins, Toby McGrath and Ned Evans led the way with some strong runs and fantastic cover defence.

Adam Hinds was busy, Tracey Noakes and Ryan Cutting continue to run straight, once they master the defensive aspect of the game they will be unstoppable.

The big improver on the day was Charlie Baddock who made plenty of ground with some powerful bursts and also threw some great passes.

The under nines also took on the might of Young and although a little flat still came away with a hard fought 2 point victory.

The boys from Young tried to unsettle the locals with some strong play but this only served to fire up the boys, in particular Jayden Cutting who led the way in defence as well as scoring two tries, he also unselfishly passed the ball to Max Gay to score his first try of the year.

Brady Halls once again showed that talent and determination will beat size every time, with a stunning two try performance.

The locals are at home this Saturday with games getting underway at 10am.

The Junior league is currently running a competition to name a mascot for the club emblem, there is $50 dollars for the winning nomination and all entries can be submitted at the west corner café or to Stuart Gay .

The Boorowa Bunnies? Kangaroos? Put on your thinking caps and come up with a name.

Under 11’s

BOOROWA’S mighty under 11’s football side traveled to Young on the weekend and in cold and wet conditions gave the Cherrypickers a real run for their money.

George Crudleigh led the way with many strong runs leaving many in his wake. Jock Corcoran also stood up and had great game, having his best game since joining the side. Jacob Carmody was moved from the centres to second row and relished the change with a strong display.

After Young got away to an early lead the locals fought back strongly with tries to Jack Stanley, who trued hard all day in both attack and defence and Ben Jenkins, who had pace to burn out wide and who was unlucky not to score more. Tristan Mears gave great service from dummy half and for a little fella he can tackle.

Alex Blomfield was also moved into the forwards and tackled his heart out with some copybook bootlace tackles. Bradley Wales and Johno Davis are both workhorses and love getting their hands dirty and always give 100 per cent all day long.

The Boorowa boys went to the half-time break leading 10-6. After the break Sam Beath continued to direct his troops around the park with his kicking game turned the opposition around. Michael Berry ran hard all day making many metres up the middle of the field.

Mal Hurley was on the end of many slick backline movements and his kick returns a real feature of his game. Ryan Hughston was unlucky to be injured early in the game so we wish him a speedy recovery for next week. Young came out hard in the second half but the Boorowa boys held out many raids until late in the game with Young scoring a couple of tries to take the game 20-10. It was a real top effort by the Boorowa boys against a strong Young outfit with a win just around the corner. The boys take on Junee this weekend at the Showground so it would be great to see a big crown to cheer all the kids on.
